We are located a little over an hour north of the twin cities area (Minnesota)
Founded in 2002 with our first bulldog Tonka. Following Tonka was Sophie our first show Bulldog, Sophie. Sophie went on to produce WestOak Doin’ It My Way, Bug. Bug was our first bred by champion he was sired by a dog out of England Ch Mystyle Warrior Ocobo. He was a spitting image of his sire. Bug went on to win multiple specialty winners dogs. Bug produced 3 Champions at WestOak with Reingold My Fair Lady, Eliza and many major pointed dogs both here and at other kennels. One of his Pups was BISS Gch WestOak Aint Nobody Business But Mi Own, Ella. Ella is retired on a farm in Wisconsin. She produced 1 litter of 2 who both went to amazing pet homes. We currently have frozen semen from Bug available to select bitches only. While we no longer have Bulldogs in our home we remain active in the bulldog community and help our breeder/mentors and friends and chance we get.
2012 we purchased Katniss MBISM (multiple best in show miscellaneous) Birchview Katch Me If You Can, CGC. Kat was shown AKC while they were still in the miscellaneous class and had not achieved full recognition. Kat was purchased As show/breed/agility dog but has a few quirks we chose not to pass on. Kat is our resident nut and protector of our hobby farm.
2016 little did we know what we were getting into. I went back to birchview kennel in 2014/15 and told sharon I wanted a red merle show female out of cricket. Cricket is a gorgeous blue merle Sharon co-owned with linderland kennel. Every time I saw cricket I told her she needed to make a red merle show quality puppy for me! The day comes and sure enough 2 red merle girls “the twins” 8 weeks old and time for puppy evals, both show quality and I’m 2nd to pick my puppy. Our friends at RavenRock farm picked Gemma, now Maisey. Leaving me to take Cassie. Cassie became our Phish and what a ride. Phish was a terror of a puppy too smart for her own good and would get frustrated when things didn’t go her way. Once phish figured out our rules and how life works it was full steam ahead. Phish does EVERYTHING she is asked. Phish got her national/international championship title at 6 months, finished her AKC championship at 16 months in 8 days of shows with 2, 5 point specialty majors and 3 majors over all. Phish went to nationals the following month earning 2 legs of her rally novice, her herding instinct certificate and her first points towards her BCAT, nationals day Phish made the cut in best of breed to compete with the top dogs in the country. She wasn’t awarded any ribbons but what an accomplishment for our baby Phishy! Phish came home from nationals and her very next show got a herding group 1. Just 3 weeks later phish went best of opposite sex at a herding specialty to finish her grand championship. She has continued to be nothing short of amazing so many titles and accomplishments and not even 3 years old. 12/01/2018 phish whelped 4 puppies at birchview.
2019 phish completed her bronze grand championship, BCAT, and obtained her CSS-l1 - canine scent sport level 1 title! This dog has an amazing nose! To obtain her title she had to find odor hidden in boxes 2x, in a small room and on a vehicle.
September 2020. As we all know 2020 generally sucked BUT as of September Phish is ranked number 19 breed and all breed by canine chronicle, AND is the number 3 bitch in the country!!!
